Chris abseils for charity!

On Sunday 13th September 2009, Chris Maguire from the Sales and Services team completed a 20 metre abseil down the Old Slate Quarry at Tilberthwaite in the lake district.

The abseil was undertaken by Chris to help raise money for the Christies Hospital in Manchester. In total Chris raised £925.00 which is a fantastic amount.

On the day Chris felt alright up until the very top of the 20m drop, when she realised just how high she was. Nevertheless she managed to steel her nerves enough to back over the edge onto a small ledge where butterflies really kicked in and her legs felt like jelly. But as there was no way of getting back up to the top Chris managed to overcome her nerves and begin the abseil. Although Chris felt very scared, she managed to abseil down the cliff as she had been instructed.

What a great effort Chris.
