Choosing a training centre
The Manufacturing Institute, which is based at Trafford Park, Manchester provides a range of educational programmes and practitioner services for the manufacturing and health care sectors.
Anne Campion, of The Manufacturing Institute said,
"We come to the training centre at Carrington, outside Manchester to deliver our courses mainly because of:-
- The price - When we cost a venue, we include the cost of hiring equipment such as a data projector and the cost of teas and coffees for 30 delegates, 3 times a day. When you add these charges on to the cost of the room, then you can get a fair comparison on price. As the hire of the data projector and tea and coffee facilities are included in the room hire at Carrington, it is easy to see why the training centre at Carrington near Manchester offers good value for money.
- The level of service - We have always found the staff, especially Doreen to be very helpful. From simple things such as help carrying boxes of course work around, to photocopying, to making sure the drinks machine is fully stocked, to providing IT support when required. Just having people around to help, means that we can get on with our role of delivering training.
- The location - Our delegates come from all over the North West, so it is very important for them that they have somewhere that is easy to get to with good motorway connections. They also like the Free car parking when they get to the training centre.
- The catering facilities - Although, we can get a buffet, we find our delegates appreciate us purchasing a £5 luncheon voucher from the cafe, so that they choose what they want to eat for themselves.
- The atmosphere - Our customers are people who work full time in manufacturing, so they don't like anywhere that feels like a school, they don't like places that feel too corporate either, but at Carrington Training Centre they feel that people and business matters.
- The room - We mainly use Conference Room D as it holds up to 30 delegates, with desks. The room also has a big picture window, which makes the room look light and airy. The chairs in the room are comfortable too, which is a must when you deliver training all day.
At the end of the training, our delegates fill in an evaluation sheet and the facilities are always marked at either good or excellent."
As well as offering education and training programmes, The Manufacturing Institute offers a whole range of services that are aimed at improving our manufacturing and health care sectors. Visit http://www.manufacturinginstitute.co.uk/ for more details.
